The top 2 seeds Drifters and Wakimbizi 7's have both finished second in their pools to Australian Premier clubs Tuggarenong Vikings and Randwick to really set up a great day of finals at AUSTAR Rugby Park Darwin.

January will come alive in the Territory when the Heineken Hottest 7s in the World returns to Darwin in 2010. Spectators will be enthralled by all the action on the field as competitors from every corner of the globe descend on the Top End.

Welcome to the 2010 Heineken Hottest 7s in the World, a wonderful precursor to our annual Australia Day celebrations.

It is the fifth anniversary of this international event and many friendships have been established between the players, coaches and supporters.

The Event is pleased to announce that the edition in the Corporate Area called the “Eagles’ Nest” will be continued at 2010 event as a great venue for patrons who are seeking that little bit extra at a great rate. The Eagles Nest will provide beverages and food over the weekend all inclusive in a prime location adjacent to the Onesteel Stand on the eastern side of Austar Rugby Park. You will witness the games from a prime viewing platform in the comfort of a well set up marquee.

During that period the tournament was predominately a club competition, but certainly had some quality champions with Duavata, Potoroos, Sydney Uni and Randwick featuring on the trophy.

In 2004 it was determined that the event needed a 'facelift' to bring it back to the glory days and develop into a truely international tournament.
