January will come alive in the Territory when the Heineken Hottest 7s in the World returns to Darwin in 2010. Spectators will be enthralled by all the action on the field as competitors from every corner of the globe descend on the Top End. Organisers continue to build on the Hottest 7s’ success, with the prize money now worth $65,000 - cementing its place as the southern hemisphere’s richest tournament. With the game continuing to go from strength to strength and entering an exciting new phase in its development, the Territory is proud to welcome to Darwin all teams – both new and returning. 2016 brings the Olympic debut of Rugby Sevens. For some, the 2010 Hottest 7s may be the launching pad to an exciting Olympic future. With the Australian teams again vowing to turn up the heat on our international contenders, Darwin’s Austar Rugby Park will be the place to be seen. From the strength and skill of the Barbarians, to the speed and agility of the Samurai, the competition promises to be fierce. The Northern Territory Government is again proud to support the Heineken Hottest 7s tournament in 2010 and I invite you to join us and be part of the action on the 23rd and 24th of January.
