Kenya Announce Strongest Squad to compete at the Heineken Hottest 7's in the World

 Kenya has selected a strong and settled squad of 14 to travel and compete in Darwin before travelling on to play in the third and fourth legs of the IRB Sevens World Series, the NZI Sevens in Wellington and the USA Sevens in Las Vegas. 


 The team, will be led by their inspirational skipper Humphrey Kayange and are arriving in Darwin on the 19 January to compete at the 'Hottest Sevens' event, before travelling to Wellington and then on to Las Vegas.  

The squad travelling to Darwin have competed well at the first two events of the new IRB season in Dubai and George, where they lie in sixth place having reached the Cup quarter finals in Dubai and the Cup semi finals in George. On both occasion they were knocked out by eventual champions New Zealand by the tight scoreline of 17-14.

"This team has progressed as an international force over the last three years and will certainly be one of the favourites for the Darwin event," said NTRU CEO Tim Heath.
 

"They can see this tournament as a great lead in preparation for the IRB events in Wellington and Las Vegas,” Heath said where they will remain in Darwin with the Australian squad the following week to train and prepare before travelling to New Zealand from Darwin on the 31st January.
