Hottest 7's in the World title has day of Surprises

The top 2 seeds Drifters and Wakimbizi 7's have both finished second in their pools to Australian Premier clubs Tuggarenong Vikings and Randwick to really set up a great day of finals at AUSTAR Rugby Park Darwin.

After the first day of pool matches the Aussie Spirit and Davetalevu teams have finished their match at the top of their pools as seeded, although Davetalevu did draw their pool match with URL Samurai and have to go through on a count back to top the pool.

This has left an exciting day of competition with these two teams along with Randwick and Vikings getting a easier draw to have a chance of winning the title. Bpth Drifters and Wakimibizi 7's are going to have a tougher route to get to the final.

The top 16 teams will play off in the Croc and Buff competition which will include a good representation of local teams with the NT Mosquitoes, Kombat Cougars and Darwin Dingoes all keeping themselves alive to play with the best teams on day 2.

The Womens competition also have had their upsets with the top seeded Amazons losing to number 2 seeds Queensland. It is shaping up with these two teams probably having to take on Victoria to take out the Jabiru Trophy.

In the Barra competition the 1 Brigade side have the number seeding and there will have strong competition from several of the other Northern Territory sides.

A full list of todays matches are available for download on the hhome page of this site, with results from Day 2 provided regularly.
